Day 24

I was out getting body wash, shampoo, and conditioner for me and the family and saw some individual lashes and lash glue that says it stays for about 6 weeks for around $6 total. I decided to grab them. Even if they last a week or two, it's still not too bad of an investment. They're the Salon Perfect brand of lashes and glue. I'm pretty impressed with the ease of application, since I fail at lash bands I figured I would have a tough time with these. Once I got the hang of them, it was a breeze to put them on. Lets get to the before and afters!

So, what do you think? Have you tried "lash extensions" before? If so, what did you think of them? Would you try them, either done at home or in a salon?

Day 23

So, I'm a few days behind on my blogging. It happens sometimes. Between taking my Sunday hiking day and then working on the zillion orders Tick:Tock got over the weekend, I didn't have much time for blogging.  Any way, today I'm doing less bloggy stuff and posting a video. I just now realized I have Windows Movie Maker on my computer, so I can use a real camera and make videos rather than using my ipod and trying to upload to Youtube or figure out the best way to get the video onto my computer. I mega fail at technology. (not sure if I've mentioned that before or not)

Trying to post this video is being a pain, so I'm just gonna link you to it here.

Day 22

It's Sunday again, so you know what that means! I spent my day in the woods again, so no face, just nature. I'm going to try to make this an every Sunday thing, so can you help me come up with something fun, cute, and creative to call it? I have a ton of pictures for you today! Click on any of the pictures to enlarge them. :D

Totally random, but I always envision Pennywise from IT popping out of this when I walk by.

Possibly rabid raccoon.

Day 21

So, I went out to do a photography job tonight and decided to wear my new lipstick creation. I go SO many compliments. I did a really neutral eye since my lips were all like "BAM!" Anyway, pictures? Yes.

Please ignore my derpy face.

Day 20

This is going to be a short little post because I'm still not feeling 100% better. Everyone has been going gaga over the new(ish?) MAC lipstick Heroine. I'm not exempt to this. I would love a tube of the stuff, however, I lack the funds for a tube. So, I went to Walmart to see if I could find a dupe. I could not. I did find an awesome dark purple lipstick by Rimmel and threw some OCC Anime Lip Tar on top and ended up with an awesome color that is probably a little shy of being Heroine.

This is Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate, no color name only a number: 04, and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Anime. It may not be an exact dupe for Heroine, but I love how it looks anyway. :)

Day 19

This is another photo heavy post! I promise you'll love it, though. I just got a new nail polish, HITS Mari Moon in Dreamer. You can order from Llarowe, here's a link to the actual polish. OMG!! I can't say enough awesome things about this polish! It's a multi chrome (meaning it changes to many different colors) and boy oh boy is it amazing! It starts out looking purple on the nail and in direct sunlight it looks blue, but shift your hand around and it looks red, move your hand again and it turns orange! How incredible is that?! I only have a few complaints and that would be the size of the bottle (it's too small!) and the brush is a little unruly. Other than these two small things, there is nothing that isn't awesome about this stuff. Now to the pictures!

Day 18

I promised two blog posts today and here is my second. I have done my nails twice today because after I did them the first time I realized I own no blue nail polish after going through and getting rid of a lot of my old stuff. I made a run to Sally Beauty Supply (which recently opened one five minutes from my house) and picked up three new polishes and a stamping kit. I only used two of them for today's mani, but I got Flying Dragon, Blue Sparrow, and Optical Illusion.

Day 17

Ugh, I'm back to being a day behind thanks to being sick and sleeping all day yesterday. So, I'll do this eye look and then later I'll do my nails and be caught up. :)

I'm doing makeup for a friend's wedding, it'll be her and her bridesmaids (I think there maybe six of them?) So, I did a run through of what I might do for the bridesmaids. I threw on some High Noon, Once Upon a Time, Salvador Dali, I <3 U 4EVA (all Tick:Tock Cosmetics) and a little bit of Bulletproof (Sugarpill) in the crease. I wasn't sure of the look while I was doing it, but pushed forward with it anyway and once I got the mascara and eyeliner on, I really liked it. I'm hoping she does too.

Day 16

I'm doing another off beat beauty post so I hope I don't come across as preachy. Once again, I'm not really doing a look of the day or anything. I want to talk about how important it is for us ladies to accept ourselves for who/what we are. I was looking in my full length mirror as I was getting ready to go work out and realized that I was pretty happy with how my body looked. This is honestly the first time I recall ever feeling this way. The first time EVER. I'm 29, for 29 years (less, really, but whatever) I've not been happy with how I look. How sad is that? Why all the sudden do I like my body? I've had two kids, and I'm the heaviest I've ever been, yet I'm strangely happy with my appearance. I've tried all day to figure out what's changed. Why did I not like myself/body at 135, but now at 190 I'm happy? I don't know. I haven't found the answer. I think it's in part that I'm taking steps to be healthier. I'm working out every week, I'm eating healthier, while I'm not trying to loose weight I do want to be healthier. I lost my dad in Jan '11 to a heart attack. He was only 59. I stop to think that my life could be half over and I can't do that to my boys.

This is what I looked like today. No editing outside of white balance correction. I have rolls, I have a paunch, but while I have those things that could be corrected, my body has done amazing things. I have two healthy, beautiful boys. And I embrace my flaws. No one is perfect. Why torture myself trying to reach perfection? Will that make me happier? Probably not.

And here is a naked face. After working out all day and cooking for the family. I haven't showered so my hair is a mess. lol

I had a point when I started this post and I think I lost it somewhere. But, the moral of the story is "Love yourself for you." Don't strive to be someone else. You are perfectly you. <3 <3 <3

Day 15

I spent my Sunday as I so often do, out at Turkey Run State Park and it got me thinking that I wouldn't worry about doing a normal beauty post. There will be no eye/face/nail of the day today, instead, I'm focusing on the beauty of nature. I think we all get so busy that we don't take the time to appreciate the gifts nature gives us. I spend all day Sunday at this park, and I'll admit that I don't always stop to smell the roses while I'm there, but I love splashing through the creek and listening to the birds, water, and wind as I work my tail off. Now, lets get to the pictures. :D

Can I just say that this video was way more difficult to upload than I figured it would be. I'm so dumb about technology sometimes. So, what are you going to do outdoors this week?
